Capital Projects
Presentation on the development of athletic facilities through a legal lens. Athletic facilities often involve significant design, construction, financing, and infrastructure challenges. They also raise myriad legal issues, including zoning, the power available to governmental and quasi-governmental bodies to undertake and finance projects, financing structures, and lease and other contract negotiations. This panel will address both the business and legal aspects of the development of stadiums and other sports venues and creative solutions used in particular projects.

Presentation on the suggested methods for self-advocacy as a woman in sports law. Topics include salary negotiation tactics and networking event tips.
Immigration Hurdles for International Athletes
This panel offers a discussion of the U.S. immigration challenges faced by international athletes in collegiate and professional sports throughout the life cycle of their sports career. Topics include: name, image, and likeness restrictions related to U.S. visa status; nonimmigrant visas available to international athletes and visa sponsorship options; permanent residency pathway; and other strategic immigration considerations to support a successful athletic career in the United States.

This panel offers a discussion of the challenges, lawsuits, and collective bargaining agreements in both collegiate and professional sports that address pay discrepancies in women’s sports. Topics include: collective bargaining agreements in women’s professional sports; name, image, and likeness agreement; and other strategic considerations in support of closing the pay gap in sport.

to the WNBA All-Star team five times, and earned two WNBA All-Star MVP awards. She is the founder of Swin Cash Enterprise, LLC, Cash Building Blocks, LP, and Cash For Kids, a 501(c)(3) charity with the mission “to
motivate, educate, and elevate” kids with a particular focus on fitness. She is the author of Humble Journey: More Precious Than Gold which documents her path from 2008 to the 2012 Olympics.
